Sarah Busse has published poetry in on-line and print journals, including Poet Lore, Arbor Vitae, Great River Review, and Perihelion, among others. She was among the runners-up in the 2008 poetry contest sponsored by the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters, and was recently awarded a residency at Edenfred in Madison. The children’s book she co-authored with her mother, Banjo Granny, came out from Houghton Mifflin in 2006 and is now in its third printing. She lives with her husband and two children in Madison, Wisconsin.

Laurel Yourke writes fiction, nonfiction and poetry, and teaches in the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Division of Continuing Education. Her book on writing craft, Take Your Characters to Dinner: Creating the Illusion of Reality in Fiction, was published by University Press in 2000, and her poetry collection, Waiting for Beethoven was published by Marsh River Editions. The classes she leads, including a novel critique group, poetry workshops, and an annual week-long intensive at Write By the Lake, have helped hundreds of writers meet their writing goals. Her writing appears in magazines and journals including Anew, A Cup of Comfort for Cat Lovers, Free Verse and The Wisconsin Academy Review. Her poetry has twice been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
